BCAP's Testing Services Have Expanded and Need Your Support!
Dear Friends,
With HIV, hepatitis C (HCV), and sexually transmitted infection (STI) rates on the rise, BCAP has expanded our prevention staff and free testing services. BCAP now provides testing for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. With this expansion in services comes increased expenses.
Please consider donating to help BCAP reduce transmission and connect people to needed medical care.
Whether in BCAP’s Boulder office or at one of the many places BCAP offers testing in the community, every appointment includes confidential, nonjudgmental, and supportive conversation between the test counselor and the person being tested.
Blaine, a regular client of BCAP’s testing services since 2012, shares, “Each time I have gone to BCAP to update my status, my test counselor has been professional and knowledgeable. I never feel judged or shamed about what I say. Sessions with BCAP's test counselors are more of an informed conversation than a lecture on what I should or shouldn't be doing. I leave informed of my status and more empowered in the choices I have about my sexual health. BCAP's testing services are invaluable to me.”
While the test results for HIV and HCV are processing (from one quick finger prick), staff can provide: - customized prevention strategies
- testing for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis - a variety of safer sex supplies - a referral to BCAP’s syringe access program - information about, and referrals to access and pay for, PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) - medical, behavioral health, and basic needs referrals
If someone receives a reactive test result(s) for HIV, HCV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and/or syphilis, staff provide essential emotional support, assistance with confirmatory testing, and help accessing medical care and treatment. As with all our services, staff can provide testing in English or Spanish. BCAP relies on financial support from donors, like yourself who value BCAP’s mission, to help us remove cost barriers for anyone needing any of our services, including testing. Please donate what you can today to help BCAP continue to provide free services, reduce transmission, and improve community health. We need and appreciate your support.
With the help of your gift, BCAP offers free testing at these community partner locations:
